My students don't shoot for the stars, they are the stars! Why do I say that? They are just as capable to compete academically as anyone in the world! Each and every child I teach is great at something, and it is up to me as the teacher, to meet them where they are and move them forward. Each day I let my students know that they can excel at anything they desire and when life gives you lemons, make lemonade! Yes, most of my students have been dealt hands beyond their control but that does not mean those situations define who they are. Meeting my children where they are academically will require more technology in the classroom.
