Most of the books I've collected/purchased over the years are way too difficult for my 1st grade students, since I've taught 2nd and 3rd grade for the past 5 years. The age-appropriate books will help my students to feel confident in their reading as they start off the year. The rug and seat cushions for the reading corner will make reading FUN and ATTRACTIVE for literacy center time and even free time! Listen to reading is a bit too hectic without headphones. Most students are unable to purchase headphones and bring it to school due to difficult home lives. All of these items will benefit my students' reading experience in 1st grade.
