AVID Elective students have committed to doing their best and taking control of their own learning. One way students work to understand and learn more is by participating in collaborative tutorials. Students identify something they are stuck on from a class and bring that problem to a small group for help from peers. Dry erase boards are what allow students to show their peers what they have tried so far and where they are stuck. Currently I only have one dedicated dry erase board for tutorials in my classroom. We need to have a dry erase board for each group so that the groups can effectively help the student presenting reach a deeper understanding of the topic. Portable boards will also allow us to move our tutorials into a room with a better configuration for tutorials.
