I would like to make reading more enjoyable by offering bean bags. In case the kids get hungry during the day, I would like to have snacks on hand. I work at a Title 1 school in the inner city of Houston, where poverty is the norm. I am in charge of the students with chronic behavior problems. These students don't want to be in this type of classroom setting, so I am trying to make it more comfortable for them. I would like to focus especially on math and reading skills. The students test at least 2 years below grade level, so it is time to ramp it up a notch and help them out. I feel that bean bags will be comfortable during reading time and encourage learning.
