As a teacher, I am always thinking about ways I can better support my students' learning. I take time to make sure the learning environment is engaging and student-centered. I am working on making my classroom a 21st Century classroom for modern learners. One way for me to do this is to offer flexible seating options to my students. Utilizing flexible seating allows students to release anxiety overload and seek sensory input which allows them to focus on what they are doing. On average, children spend about ten hours of their day sitting, so classroom furniture should accommodate their natural need to move. These wobble chairs and laptop stands will allow my students to move their bodies without disturbing their neighbor. I feel like this will really benefit their learning. For my students to produce the best work they can, they need seating options that offer movement or an alternative seating option. I want to prioritize students’ needs concerning the environment in which they learn.
