My classroom has cold, tile floors. We need a rug for all of the students to be able to sit down on for large group lesson time. Here are some of the activities we will do on the large group rug: morning meeting, problem of the day, circle time, read aloud, and our share reading time. Besides the practicality of providing a place for the scholars to sit, a large group rug will also add warmth and color to the room. Since our classroom has no windows, warmth and color are so very important to the learning environment. This rug will make our classroom look fun, warm, and inviting!
