My project will use these supplies to create a reading corner in the classroom that will give students flexible seating, comfortability, and a pleasant reading and learning location. These supplies include pillows to lean against during independent reading time, headphones for listening to audiobooks, and clipboards for taking notes while not sitting at a desk. These items will allow for different reading styles to do their best work. Some students enjoy reading from the book, while others get more from reading when it is read to them. Also, being able to switch up the seating daily will keep reading and learning engaging and active. These supplies will allow me to make this reading corner functional and comfortable. It is important to tend to all styles of learning to ensure that ALL students feel welcome in the classroom and are in an environment that will stimulate their learning. Reading is an essential skill that we all need to develop. In 3rd grade, student transition from 'learning to read' to 'reading to learn'.
