My students have a lot on their plate, having to learn a new language along with adapting to a new culture. By providing them with flexible seating I want to give them access to a comfortable classroom where they can focus on just reading and losing themselves in new books. Research has shown that flexible seating increases motivation and engagement, creating a better oxygen flow to the brain, and improving core strength and overall posture. Approximately 70% of our students come from low income and they receive free or reduced price lunch. By providing them with access to flexible seating, I hope to give them an escape from the real world and dive into adventures brought to them by books.
