Paper, crayons, markers and scissors will help our 1st graders create a masterpiece in conjunction with our art program to highlight qualities of the everyday hero. Students will design a 1st grade mural to demonstrate super, everyday hero qualities. Being able to place in their hands quality supplies that will help them design their objective will be helpful to learn qualities such as team work, integrity, kindness, respect, responsibility, loyalty, friendship, etc. This will produce a visual that they can be proud of. Also, the mural will be visual to all students as it will be displayed in the cafeteria. This project is part of our "kindness" campaign and will have a school-wide impact. My classroom is currently a cart which is used to travel throughout our building for lessons. Having necessary materials on hand will help students be creative and inventive for this project.
