We were given 10 iPads for classroom use during math and reading time. With headphones, students can work in a quiet corner of the class and focus on their leveled activity while other children are in a small group with a teacher. When it's time to switch the next group will be able to quietly put on the headphones and start their work. It creates a quiet classroom when all students are focused. When I work with a small group of students my other students can work on Dreambox, a math program that allows students to work at their level, listen to books, or work on reading skills. The software that we use tells students how to complete the assignments. Using good quality headphones assures me that students will be able to hear properly and focus on leveled work independently all school year. Students are also able to listen to their favorite stories in a comfortable corner of the classroom.
