As adults, we love to get comfortable when reading our novels, paper, or magazines. We aren’t sitting on hard chairs but usually on a sofa, Lazy Boy, or our bed. I feel that if students were able to have flexible seating- they would enjoy their adventures in literature! As an ELA teacher, I see the importance of both reading and writing. Students who love to read are also very creative in their writing and their vocabulary soars. I want to level the playing field for all my students and be able to provide what, to me, is the best feeling in the world. We all can remember that one or more book/s that you just couldn’t put down. I want them to be taken way to another place in my classroom using the comfortable seating (beanbag chairs) and work stations (lap desks). I want to enhance their creativity any way possible.
