My motivated Student Council members decided that our school needs a way for classes to take their learning outside the walls of the classroom. There are so many lessons that can be taught with more relevance and authenticity when you are in an outdoor environment. There are insects to be studied, leaves to be examined, and weather patterns to be observed and analyzed just to name a few ideas. We decided to make this outdoor classroom portable so that it can go wherever the learning is happening. With the right set up and equipment, students can work easily with less distractions. It will be easy to take to the park next door or on a field trip to study fossils. Our whole school will have access to this inventive solution to hands on learning.
