My classes are participating in a 40 book challenge. Their goal is to read 40 books in a variety of genres by the end of the school year. Students will read books independently in class during self-selected reading time and at home each night. They enjoy reading a variety of books. I am trying to expand my classroom library so they have a variety of books to choose from. Students document their completed books by writing a book summary, doing a book talk and recording themselves, having a book talk with me, or completing a graphic organizer. With a variety of books in our classroom library, students will have access to more books to read independently.
