Getting students excited about math comes with the inevitable questions of 'when will we use this'? This project will enable my students to transform the mathematical skills that they learn into tangible results and foster their curiosity of how they can grow and contribute to the improvement of not only their community but of the world. By donating to this project you are investing in creative, talented problem solvers. The sooner we can motivate students to think beyond the moment, the more apt they are to develop a passion for learning and improving themselves and their world. As the infrastructures run through their cycle, the future calls for the development of young minds to meet the needs of these vital systems. Using the bridge building class packs as a starting point, students will have the opportunity to engage in a field that is a part of their everyday life, but still remains a mystery to them. To build on the basics students will use grid paper, t-squares and triangles to design, build, test and analyze their projects, as they relate how and where education can help them towards their future endeavors. knowing that they are capable of anything.
