I want to use flexible seating to allow students to choose comfortable seating during reading times. Avid readers are a key to success, sitting comfortably encourages readers to continue and stay with the story. Fidgeting and moving to readjust makes students lose track of the story line, often causing memory lapses on key details and story plot. I want my beginning readers to find success by allowing the children to be able to get out of the traditional desk, adjust the flexible seats to their heights and their comfort levels to ensure students the best reading experience. The longer they stay reading, the better chance I have of closing the gap in reading for my students. Flexible seating is a must.
