The beginning of the day is extremely important and sets the tone for the rest of the day. In the past, morning work has been the typical worksheet. But, through this project, my goal is to create play-based learning morning activity tubs. It is my goal to create a more meaningful introduction to the day through these activities and begin the day off with more positivity! I started my teaching career in preschool and kindergarten and understand the importance of play-based learning and want to be able to extend that to 4th grade. With your help, my students will be able to work on spelling, math, science, reading, logic and more without even realizing they're learning and working on problem solving. The game Bananagrams is an engaging and active spelling and reading game that will get kids energetic and ready to work on spelling while Boggle will similarly challenge their brains. Social Studies objectives can be met through the USA and World puzzles while science will be addressed through the Electronic Smart House, complete with a working doorbell. And, it won't stop there! Addition and subtraction will be stressed in the 4 Way Countdown Game and 24 Game Single Digits. Problem solving skills will also be challenged through Block by Block and Tangrams. These activities are also differentiated so no student will be left out and every student will be challenged daily! No matter the activity chosen in the morning, the students will be starting their day off through a fun, but meaningful activity. What a fantastic start to the day!!
