This year I am teaching a more diverse group of learners. In order to properly reach my students, I need to differentiate instruction and focus on providing a hands-on approach. These materials will give my students the materials they need to physically work with math. Students crave tangible methods to experience math. With the dry erase pockets and timer, my students can work in stations to play games and work together to learn math skills. The counting chips and geometric shapes will enable students to manipulate and experience math with their hands. In 7th grade math, students learn how to solve problems with positive and negative numbers. The counters will enable students to visual how to obtain the answer and why.
