Every day when students enter my room, we will get out our Yoga mats and do some deep breathing and Yoga. Honestly, doing Yoga classes was how I learned to handle my anxiety. Before doing Yoga, I never understood the power of breathing. It has been a life lesson I am thankful for. My students need GoYoga mats. The students who enter our classrooms are experiencing trauma at alarming rates. We must do something to help combat the negative effects of trauma. I have a plan for how to help my students. I am going to build a safe, reflective classroom. Yoga will be used to teach mindfulness and breathing techniques. Yoga helped me. I know it will help my kids, too.
