Teaching my students Yoga has become very important to me. Yoga not only increases their physical fitness by developing a strong connection to body awareness and movement, the poses help improve coordination, balance, strength, and flexibility. Yoga is also great for reducing stress, coping, anxiety and improving focus. My students have the basic Physical Education equipment, but I desire to give them other options that they can use for a lifetime. In my experience, Yoga helps teens learn skills to navigate challenges and build a core foundation that benefits both the mind and body which is a skill that needs to be taught at the Junior High level.

About my class
