These books will help my students understand what a growth mindset is. Developing a growth mindset can help my students overcome the hurdles they face in learning and develop the necessary skills to succeed. The National Education Goals Panel has identified five essential areas of school readiness, social and emotional development; approaches to learning; language and literacy; cognition and general knowledge; and physical development and health. Books like The Way I Feel, It's Not My Fault, A Bad Case of Tattle Tongue and I Can't Do That, YET: Growth Mindset will help them develop and understand the necessary social and emotional development skills and their approach to learning skills that will help them be successful in their educational careers. Picture books will help make these topics easier for my students to comprehend.
