Every student I teach is musically gifted. They just don’t know it yet. I teach in a rural low socioeconomic area, and my students don’t have access to music lessons. I teach my students how to read music and play instruments. We’ve learned, or are learning, everything from ukuleles to pianos, guitars, and even an accordion. They truly have a desire to learn and create. I’m teaching my students how to appreciate beauty and have the ability to create beauty. With the help of the Smart TV, we will see demonstrations showing how to play Fats Domino's famous riffs, which will help me teach my students how to write their own Rock and Roll. They will be able to take a virtual tour of the home of Mozart and Hayden and see examples of the instruments they played. With the help of the Smart TV, I will be able to access programs and apps that will provide games and challenges. The Smart TV will also aid in learning about synthesizers as well as writing code that is actually music. By funding my project, you will be helping to inspire and teach the next generation of musicians, artists, and appreciators.
