My pre-kindergarteners are working towards their goal of becoming wonderful readers and writers. The permanent white boards built onto the walls in the classroom are too tall for my four year old students to reach. They need one more suited to their needs. Having a white board that they can actually write on comfortably will help them every single day during the morning message. Morning message is a short message that students get to analyze in order to weave reading, writing and word study into a daily lesson. In the beginning of the year I write the message. It is the students' job to look for letters they know, punctuation, sight words, and the main idea. By doing this activity every day, students are able to create their own message by the end of the year.
