I am excited to be able to offer my students an amazing language acquisition lounge where they will be able to build their proficiency in Spanish with new books. Teaching proficiency through reading and storytelling is an input-based approach to teaching language that focuses on the systematic instruction of vocabulary in a highly comprehensible, personalized and contextualized manner. It is my goal to create a cozy atmosphere for my students to read Spanish books in comfort. Like my students, the books I have chosen are diverse in culture and proficiency level. The lounge area will consist of a rug and two chairs for students to sit on, a lamp to light the area, and tiered book organizers to organize the books by reading level.
