Many of my students have a lot of energy and struggle to sit in a chair for lengthy periods of time. My students love when I give them the opportunity to sit on the floor with a group or during a read aloud. I would love to give them the chance to have alternative options to use at their desks, in addition to when they sit on the floor. Students will be able to take turns using the two balance balls and wobble chair that I requested at their desks. They will allow them to find the most comfortable option that works best for their learning. The students will be able to use the space wobble cushions in a way of their choosing that best meets their needs. One option is to use them on the floor during group work, independent reading, or during class read alouds. Another option would be for them to use the cushion while sitting at their desk by placing it on top of the chair. This can add comfort to their seat, which could help them to be more productive. The texture of the cushion is also very beneficial for students’ sensory. These seating alternatives will not only give them a chance to move around, but teach them responsibility and focus when given the opportunity to use one. By donating to our project, you will help students increase their engagement and focus on their work!
