The two carpets and two bean bags will greatly aid in creating a reading center and a whole group inquiry center, so that my students will have a comfortable and happy learning environment. Having a classroom where a student feels not only content but also safe truly aids in lowering their affective filter and thus increases their ability to comprehend, capture, and utilize learned information. Both carpets and beanbags will be used to create a type of home for students and enhance a desire to inquire about their world. The whole group reading area rug will be used to frontload essential academic information for whichever topic that is currently being studied while the other smaller rug will be used for the reading center to read assigned literature or research diverse academic topics. Lastly, the beanbags will be used as a sitting space for students to read or work throughout the day.
