My students would greatly benefit from flexible seating options such as wobble chairs and flex-space floor seats. These items will give them the opportunity to discover how to position themselves in the classroom in ways that will allow them to be successful. It will also open up opportunities for student discussion and collaboration throughout the class. Creating an environment of choice and comfort will help cultivate learning for my students. Flexible seating provides students with opportunities to make simple choices throughout their day, allowing them to feel empowered while providing a healthy sense of control. It also helps students feel comfortable. School can cause anxiety for some students and providing them with a comfortable space to learn will help them remain focused and engaged. Flexible seating encourage a classroom environment that empowers my students to take ownership of their education.
