The tablets, and leap frogs will help my students with understanding technology. This will allow them to gain pre-computer skills. The sentence strips will be used when we learn the alphabet to give them a multi-sensory way to digest what they are learning . For instance if we are learning the letter /a/ they will be able to make an ambulance, alligator, or ant and attach it to the sentence strip for a hat. This will get them excited to talk about it again at home. The leapfrogs are for independent learning and association of words. During center time the children are working independently while the teacher is running small recovery groups. Typically, todays classroom is just one teacher with no permanent aide. Although there may be a person allotted for a short time of 20 minutes or so this is usually a shared aide between 12 teachers. and may just be a few times a week. The leap frogs will help the children understand words. And finally, the laminate sheets, self adhesive dots, and pom poms are for my centers. I have purchased some amazing centers that incorporate math and pre-reading skills. When they go to the grocery store they will make a list with pre-made picture cards.
