My classroom needs ten stools for guided reading groups and literature circles. These stools are the perfect size for my fifth graders, and will contribute to a positive, practical learning environment. Each day, my students meet with me in small groups for personalized guided reading lessons that develop literacy skills. This instruction is crucial for my students' growth as readers. While this instruction is taking place, other students in the class discuss their personal reading together in literature circles. These stools will benefit my students by allowing them to sit together comfortably in a designated collaborative guided reading area, and with literature circle groups. Students will be able to share their experiences and thoughts about literature with their peers in a collaborative learning environment.
