Being read to puts children in the frame of mind for learning and increases literacy achievement. I have added a class set of books for my class to not only read on their own but read together. Data shows that children who regularly have books read to them, at any age, score higher on state and national literacy tests. I have also put some athletic balls for my children to enjoy recess and build community with sharing of supplies. I want my students to build relationships through reading as well as physical education. I believe with the products in this project I can build relationships not only within my classroom but a relationship with learning as well.
