As I teach physical education classes to all 5-12 graders, they usually have me as a teacher for many years. Although there are curriculum differences, they will have some overlap. I don't want my students to get bored with the activities presented each year, so new games and activities are necessary to create and keep interest. The Spikeball game is a new addition to this curriculum. Some of the other materials are to replace used, lost, or broken items. The softer volleyballs will be used to help those students develop skills in volleyball, while reducing pain when learning to pass a volleyball. I want my students to develop a lifelong love of health and fitness and instill the value of being and keeping their bodies in shape. The skills and activities we do with this equiment will help in this process.
