My classroom follows the flow of the day. Many times during the day we need a gathering point for seating during specific activities. Sitting on a hard floor is not only uncomfortable, but it's also very slippery which leads to excessive body movement. Having an area rug in the classroom will help bring us together as community. There is no assigned seating on a shared carpet space. An area rug will serve our classroom as a destination to read in comfort or collaborate with classmates. This versatile spot will serve as a great anchor for our classroom. Rugs also help with noise reduction, absorbing sound, rather than showing it around.
