Our school recognizes the opportunity gap in education for students of color. We see the potential in each student and strive to fight for their right to quality education. I am a first year teacher working with Teach for America to try and provide for 50+ 5th graders. Our students are a phenomenal group of young people. Our scholars are an intriguing, intelligent, wise, witty, and pleasant While the aforementioned superlatives are rarely assigned to middle school students in the impoverished region of Baltimore that my students call home, these attributes accurately describe my young scholars.
