Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent and group work times they should be able to choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently my students are only able to work at their desks or a table. I would love for my students to be able to choose to work during Reader's/Writers Workshop and Math Stations in a variety of locations in our room. Your donations will allow my students to work comfortably on our carpet with the Kids Lap Desks to provide an easy space for them to write or reflect on their reading. They can use the Flex- Comfy Space Floor seats to be more comfortable on the floor with clip boards while working in groups during Math Stations. While some students may choose to use the Flex-Space Wobble Cushions while independently reading on the floor or in a chair to be able to move and focus at the same time. My student's ability to focus during independent and group time can be difficult for some if they are forced to only sit in a chair at a desk. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their learning and I know the same will come through when they have a choice in how they work. When students are given the choice of where they sit, they are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they have no choice but to just sit at their desk.
