Little minds need their little feet to MOVE to make the most out of school! In our small school, we are divided into complexes, where one giant room has been partitioned into smaller "rooms" with partial walls and no doors! This can make concentration very difficult, even for adults. My students love the ability to "fidget," but we can't do many loud movement activities due to our setup. The materials I have requested will allow my students to focus their fidgeting and move while they learn and work, without being disruptive to others. The Kore Wobble chairs and balance balls allow for active seating, so students can wiggle while they work. The Bouncy Bands for desks allow my foot tappers to move all they'd like, without the noise! The lap desks and clipboards allow students to stand or move away from their desks while they work. From the time we are born, we learn through engaging our senses. Research has found that alternative seating that gives students the ability to wiggle, stand, or even sit away from a traditional desk promotes on-task behavior and can improve performance.
