Every year I try something new to solve the great Kindergarten book bag dilemma.... finding a storage solution that is easy enough for Kindergarteners to access and strong enough to withstand an entire school year! We have tried using simple fabric bags with no closure - the books dump out while kids are getting them out or putting them away. We have tried flexible project bags with zippers - busy hands broke the zipper off on the first use. We have tried plastic project cases - they cracked and broke when accidentally dropped. We have tried extra large (laminated) manila envelopes - they lasted a couple of weeks. Plastic book bins or magazine holders require more shelving which we just don't have room for in our classroom. Students already have a wooden cubby space in which these book bags from Lakeshore would perfectly fit! These bags are sturdy, easy to open, and will secure books so they aren't dumped out onto the floor!!!
