Having snacks for our students will greatly impact their performance and behavior inside the classroom. Our students have long days. Many of them get up early to catch two buses to school in order to make it on time. The majority of them do not have time to eat breakfast. During instruction, students are tired and not performing well. They are agitated because they have not eaten and thus, no productivity can come from this. Having snacks inside the classroom will help fuel kids in the moment and keep them on task and productive. Snacks inside the classroom will also serve as positive incentives for good behavior. Good behavior leads to a better working environment and a better working environment leads to retention of more knowledge!
