My students come from Spanish-speaking households and are learning how English and Spanish are connected in our elementary dual language program. These students have been the first cohort since the program began in our building a few years ago, and I'm excited to continue their journey as they learn to navigate this world with the wonderful super power of bilingualism. Since beginning the year with them, it has been amazing to learn about their interests as readers, writers, mathematicians, and scientists. They have explored so much in these past few months and I can't wait to see where else we can go. These students are fourth and fifth graders who have shown themselves to have a thirst for learning and I couldn't ask for anything more from my students.
