As I teach not only learners of English but also individuals with lives, identities, and histories, I want to develop projects that support my students' learning while also allowing them to express their identities and experiences in a safe environment. For this project, I am collecting composition books and binders. Journaling on a regular basis will give students a chance to express their emotions, experiences, and identities. Starting the day by journaling may also allow for frustrations to be let out before engaging in other class work or lessons. Composition books are excellent, durable notebooks. Binders will be used so that students may assemble a portfolio of their increasing language proficiency. They can create personal dictionaries, and they can track their progress in reading, writing, vocabulary, and other subjects. Additionally, they may decorate and add to these binders as they see fit while they develop their English language skills. I believe that these two supplies will be incredible assets to my students.
