Technology in education allows for any student with any learning need or style to be successful. Through the use of an iPad, not only are the students able to practice their engineering skills, but I am able to better differentiate instruction for the myriad of learning needs present in my classes. iPads allow for one student to create a video instead of write and another to use text to speech technology. It also allows for the gifted students to receive enrichment that helps them soar above their circumstances. Tools such as video makers, Skype, coding applications, and graphic design sites are some of the best places for maximizing student skills. A classroom equipped with an iPad is a classroom with a window into the world. A student with a disability will be able to be included in the STEM design or a student with a robot design will be able to share with an expert in engineering. iPads provide real-world connections which are key to the future success of students as they extend their learning to solve every day problems. It transcends situations and circumstances placing all bright minds on an equal level. Technology in the form of an iPad will bring countless opportunities for students to show and apply what they are learning.
