This will be our school's first ever Authors' Day and Reading Festival! We will make all of these novels available to our student body. We have invited each of these published young adult authors to come and share their wisdom, talk about their motivation, express the process of getting published, and answer any questions the kids have about developing, writing, and publishing novels. Students will have the opportunity to actually meet the person who wrote the book(s) they read, talk one-on-one with multiple published authors, and acquire autographs from these talented and inspiring writers. This is an incredible experience for our 800+ students, the staff, and the authors involved. This provides a wildly unique dynamic - to be able to meet the person who actual wrote the books that the students read. Students can then inquire about specific characters, settings, and story lines. This establishes a real life connection between readers and authors.
