Seeing my students connect and relate to a main character in a novel is an amazing feeling. By giving them so many choices in genre, writing style, and types of main characters, I know even my most reluctant readers will be itching to pick up a new book. With the new texts like, "Miles Morales, Spider-Man," I cannot wait to see the joy on my boys' faces at seeing a character who looks like them, and a comic book-even better! Having new and high interest texts will help me reach as many students as possible. Getting Middle-Schoolers excited about reading is no easy feat, but this list of new books will surely help me out:)
