The materials I am requesting will provide my students with a broad spectrum of intellectual challenge and historical understanding. By providing each student with his or her own individual copy of the books we are reading, we can more fully explore what motivated American patriots to start the Revolution; to better understand how a Native American youngster and a young American colonist grew up together; and how two young girls and their families work together to survive the Holocaust and build lifelong friendships. Having these books will allow history to come alive in our classroom, from the American Revolution to World War II.
