By helping me get these novels for my students, you will allow me to increase student engagement and increase their literacy skills as well as critical and analytical thinking skills. The novels selected represent a wide array of cultures and experiences to help each student see themselves in the literature. Numerous studies have proven that when students see themselves in the literature that they are more likely to be engaged and stay engaged. Thus leading to better reading and writing skills. In our ever changing world, it is now more important than ever to put these kinds of novels in our students hands.
