My students are 10th graders at an urban public school in Tennessee. They are on the school's basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, and track teams. They are cheerleaders, debaters, Future Business Leaders of America, and peer mentors. They may be victims of the achievement gap, but they have more fire in their belly about learning than anyone else. They fiercely want a better education!
