Our students are allowed to use personal electronic devices in the classroom with prior arrangements. However, not every student has access to personal technology. I am requesting three Apple iPod touches for my students to use in the classroom to manipulate data, produce videos and generally have access to technology they need to get their classwork done. Having a few devices in the classroom will allow all students access to great technology in their learning. Students come alive when allowed to share learning with technology. A few years back I saw a very quiet, reserved student come alive when he recorded a video tutorial from home. We saw a whole new side of him. This is a great way to get to know students and create experiences that they will remember for a lifetime.
