Students feel empowered by having some degree of choice and control over their environment. Flexible seating allows students to choose where they work and with whom. It also allows them to change their location and positions as needed. Many teachers are throwing out their common traditional learning seating chairs and using the variety of seating arrangements. Stools, stability balls, bean bags, couches, scoop rockets, and so on. "In a 2016 follow-up story on Edutopia, she says giving students choices about their physical classroom space teaches them higher-order thinking skills." By donating to our project you will help happier students, better engagement, better results, and behavior will decline. Can you imagine seating for 8 hours in a traditional school chair, then maybe we should not expect preschoolers to do the same.
