I am a new teacher at a title one school. Many of my students come to school without the supplies they need to succeed. Students don't have access to the funds for their supplies and that should not hold them back. I am a first year teacher and have already spent quite a bit on supplies for my students, but I need your help. I never want a student to feel left out and all of the things on my list are to help them feel at home and ready to learn. We need notebooks, pens, glue, pencils and coloring supplies, they are all necessary. If students do not have access to these supplies it will be very difficult for them. We need books with a diverse point of view, books that my students can relate to. Some of my students are new to the country and I want them to feel at home. I choose the book "I'm New Here" to do as a read aloud for my class. This book showcases what it feels like to be new to the country. I believe this book will help other students to see what it might feel like for my students new to this country. These items will help my classroom to be an inclusive place for all to learn.
