As I mentioned, I am a first year teacher, so I don't have much of a starting point. And most of my students and their families are not currently in the position to financial assist in getting our classroom ready with supplies. These students show up to school every day despite the plethora of obstacles they face in their home and community lives, and they deserve, just as much as any other children in this world, to show up to a classroom that makes them feel supported, valued, and able to learn. Because they are ready to learn, ready to become the intelligent, capable adults that they will be. And it is my job to support them on that journey. Part of doing that job is helping them acquire basic supplies like notebooks to organize their materials, pencils, snacks and markers etc because I want a lot of our learning to be based in projects and creativity. But I can't do it all by myself, and any help you are able to give is so very appreciated. Thank you.
