My students absolutely love reading! Any time we have extra time they go grab a book and read and help one another read! It's so exciting to see. Many times when I am out of the classroom, my lesson plan go with one of our books. If I am not here to go through our regular routine, I usually have them work on a book they will enjoy. Many times I also have them partner read and use our classroom library book for small group or to go along with the text feature we are focusing on. I also use some of the book to discuss important topics such as kindness, bullying, and respect towards others.
