Piaget said, “Children have real understanding only of that which they invent themselves.” As a way of offering unique hands-on experiences for my students, I’m designing a special place in my classroom where they can imagine, design, create, and problem solve - a “makerspace.” In this engaging space, my students will learn to think creatively, practice social skills, and collaborate with peers as they explore STEAM concepts. To support all learners, my students need creative construction materials to use in our Makerspace in order to develop 21st century and STEAM skills. The resources (K’Nex Kits , Lego Simple Machines Kit, and books) will inspire and excite my students as they become inventors!
